Please review your family schedule carefully when registering to ensure that you can honor this commitment. 1. Reporting Absences: All absences must be reported using the online form available on the Thornapple Arts Council website. Absences reported through other means such as informing the teacher or administrative staff, leaving a voicemail, or sending an email will no longer be accepted without submission of the attendance form. Absences must be reported 8 hours or more in advance to be considered excused. 2. Excused Absences: Excused absences include teacher cancellations, weather cancellations, or any absences reported with more than 8 hours' notice. Excused absences will be credited or makeups can be arranged throughout the semester if coordinated directly with the instructor. 3. Unexcused Absences: Absences with no notice or those reported less than 8 hours before the scheduled lesson will be considered unexcused. These lessons will be charged for and cannot be made up or credited. If a student accumulates 3 or more unexecused absences per semester, the account will be reviewed to determine if the student is allowed to continue lessons. 4. Makeup Opportunities: A makeup week will no longer be available at the end of the Fall and Winter semesters. All makeup lessons must be directly arranged with the student's instructor during the semester. Eligible makeups must meet the cancellation policies outlined above. Note that this policy may vary for Homeschool Partnership students. This updated policy aims to streamline the process of reporting absences while maintaining accountability for both students and instructors. Thank you for your cooperation in adhering to these guidelines.
