Financial Assistance
The Thornapple Arts Council’s Financial Assistance fund helps ensure Barry County arts students and teachers have the opportunity to partake in educational opportunities regardless of economic circumstance.
2024-2025 School Year
- $500 to Delton Kellogg High School to help band students travel to march in the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade
- $2700 in Sue Drummond Scholarship funds for a Delton Kellogg student to attend CCM Musical Theatre Intensive
2023-2024 School Year
- $500 to DK Elementary to hire a local artist to paint murals in an outdoor garden
- $500 to DK High School for new sheet music for the band
- $500 to TK Page Elementary to buy rights for the elementary musical
- $496 to Lakewood Middle School for new mallets for the band program
- $1372 in Sue Drummond Scholarship funds to a Hastings High School student to attend Interlochen Summer Arts Camp
- $775 in Sue Drummond Scholarship funds to a Delton Kellogg High School student to attend A Class Act NY
2022-2023 School Year
- $500 to Hastings Middle School for new sheet music for the choir
- $500 to Maple Valley Jr/Sr High School for new sheet music for the bands
- $290 to Hastings Central Elementary School for supplies for a class poetry project
- $360 to Hastings Central Elementary School for supplies for a class art project
- $500 to Delton Kellogg Schools for new sheet music for the bands
- $300 to Hastings Central Elementary for a special presenter at a school assembly
2021-2022 School Year
- $229 to Central Elementary for supplies to make poetry books featuring student poems
- $3375 in Sue Drummond Scholarship funds
2020-2021 School Year
- $500 to Page and Lee Elementary School for recording equipment for virtual performances
- $500 to Delton Kellogg Schools for new sheet music for middle and high school bands
- 36 trays of watercolor paints to Hastings Central Elementary art classes
- $700 to Hastings Bands for MSBOA festival fees
- $117 to Hastings Central Elementary for supplies for creating poetry books
2019-2020 School Year
- $491 to Lakewood Middle School for instrumental music for the jazz band
- $500 to Maple Valley High School for stained glass supplies for high school classes
- $500 to Hastings Central Elementary for workshops and assemblies on writing genre
- $500 to Maple Valley High School for a once-in-a-lifetime art and history trip
- $390 in Sue Drummond Scholarship funds
