Giving Tuesday

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement unleashing the power of people and organizations to transform their communities and the world. It was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • What is Giving Tuesday?

Following Black Friday and Cyber Monday, Giving Tuesday is a global day of giving fueled by the power of social media and collaboration. It is about giving back to what matters to you, be it charity, nonprofit, small business, or school. Send a check, volunteer your time, share social media posts to encourage your friends to give — do something this Giving Tuesday to give back.

  • When is Giving Tuesday?

Giving Tuesday is the Tuesday after Thanksgiving (November 30th in 2021). Many nonprofits — ourselves included — choose to start a year-end giving campaign on Giving Tuesday that continues through the end of the calendar year.

  • Why Giving Tuesday at the Thornapple Arts Council?

We at the Thornapple Arts Council firmly believe in the importance of the work we do. From summer concerts to scholarships, Arts and Eats to the Art Pantry, we are strong advocates for the arts in Barry County.

While TAC is fortunate to receive an operational grant from MCACA (the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs) each year, there is always a need for funds. We depend in part on donations from our community in order to continue serving Barry County.

  • How to Give

While our official campaign will kick off with a fundraiser on our Facebook page, you can also give via our website, over the phone, or by check!

The Thornapple Arts Council is a registered 501(c)(3). Donations to TAC are tax deductible.
